Substance Abuse Treatment Center Mesa

Assisted Treatment

Medication- Assisted Treatment (MAT)- At Unhooked at the Heights our entire Treatment Team is here to help with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) when indicated. MAT uses medications in combination with counseling to treat substance use disorder as part of a comprehensive substance abuse treatment plan with an ultimate goal of patient recovery to full social function.

Extensive research shows that medication in combination with therapy is the most effective way to treat Substance Use Disorder. The Treatment Team will manage withdrawal symptoms and guide the process of breaking the bonds of the chemical aspects of addiction so that real healing can begin.

Medication Assisted Treatment includes:

  • Comprehensive Medical Assessment
  • Cognitive and Behavioral Assessment
  • Psychiatric Visit
  • Physician Visit
  • Addiction Medications
  • Short-term stabilization
  • Long-term maintenance
  • Referrals for Continuing Care

*Necessity for Medication- Assisted Treatment is done on an individual basis after a comprehensive assessment by a licensed Psychiatrist with a specialty in Addiction Medicine. Not all clients will qualify or respond to MAT. Medication- Assisted Treatment is an option and not a mandatory part of our program.
